Kamala Harris’ Fox interview costs her 3% point in Polymarket

POLIBIZ –  Democrat presidential candidate Harris put high odds on her highly-anticipated interview with Fox News host Bret Baier on 16th Oct 2024. However, the interview turns out to be counter-productive since the public, within a few hours, put  less odds on Polymarket for her chance of winning in the presidential election: down to 38.6% (-3%) .

Contrary to expectations, Bret’s questions for Harris were hardball and his interaction with her was also tough.

The interview looked like a performance review of Biden-Harris Administration, in which her problematic shortcomings in immigration, economy and foreign relations were used as the foundation for interview questions.

Harris, as per her usual style, applied “the dodging and deflecting” tactics to avoid admitting any mistakes from her side, and redirected all the problem origins onto Trump’s shoulder.

And instead of answering the questions, she tried to turn the interview into a platform to present her campaign points and a virtual court to "virtually prosecute" Trump. Kalama raised Trump's name for at least 20 times through the short interview.

Harris was successful in exercising those tactics in some cases, but frequently faced the constant interruptions from  Bret who had to struggle all the time to repeat his questions and redirect her back to the lane of his questions.

Encountering the strict moderation from Bret, Harris show signs of irritation, loss of self-control, by the tone of her voice, her facial expressions and the way she pointed her fingers at Bret.

The interview was originally planned to last 30 minutes, but the airing time was cut short to 20 minutes. According to Bret, Harris arrived 15 minutes late, and in the middle of the interview, Harris’ people at the studio waved him to stop it sooner.
