POLIBIZ – Democrat-led Department of Justice suing Virginia’s efforts of purging non-citizens from the voter rolls is another move proving Democrats and Republicans have contradicting definition of “election integrity and transparency”. While Donald Trump and his allies continuously call for integrity and propose actions to pursue it, Kamala Harris and her allies rarely mention about it and just diligently block such actions by their opponents.

For Republicans, voting integrity means only citizens are eligible to vote; voters must present their ID to prove their citizenship to be able to cast the vote; ballots should be both hand-counted and machine-counted to avoid mechanical or manual mistakes, voters have to prove their citizenship to be able to receive mail-in ballots.
In July 2024, the Republican-led House of Representatives passed a bill called “the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act”, or SAVE, that would require individuals registering to vote to provide proof of citizenship to participate in federal elections. However, the bill was opposed by President Joe Biden.
Prior to Virginia, Alabama was also sued by Department of Justice in Sept 2024 for updating and eliminating non-citizens from its voter database.
In an unprecedented move, California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 1174 into law on September 29, 2024, prohibiting local governments from requiring voters to present identification when casting their ballots at the polls. In a society where citizens are required to present their ID in most of their important legal and public transactions to prove their identity, it’s bizarrely illegal to ask them to do so in an important public course: to vote for their president.
In Georgia, following a lawsuit filed by Democrats, a judge on 16th Oct 2024 blocked the rule requiring hand-count of US election ballots (besides the machine scanning). Harris’ campaign has celebrated this news as a victory.
With over $1 billion through campaign fundraising in the past few months, Kamala Harris can extravagantly spend on endless lawsuits against any Republican efforts to make the presidential election secured and transparent.
By common sense, when you are against the transparency and integrity, you are pursuing the shadiness and dishonesty.
