Further taling to mass media, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday that evidence suggests an Iranian missile strike was the cause of the Ukrainian jetliner plunging from the sky Wednesday outside Tehran.

"We have intelligence from multiple sources, including our allies and our own intelligence. The evidence indicates the plane was shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile," Trudeau said during a news conference in Ottawa.

He also said the missile strike may be an “unintentional act” but needs further investigation to draw out final conclusions.

Iranian authorities have denied suggestions that their own missile system accidentally brought down the plane, insisting that it was caused by mechanical failure or pilot error.

American mass media reported that many US officials, including President Donald Trump,  voiced their suspicions about the crash, saying without providing evidence that "somebody could have made a mistake."
