Truth Social quickly became the most downloaded application on the App Store just a day later, however many users faced difficulties in downloading and/or registering an account. Many users are reportedly put on the waitlist, with the message: "Due to massive demand, we have placed you on our waitlist."

Trump was banned from the 3 largest social networks in the world nowadays, including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube after his supporters attacked the Capitol on January 6, 2021, for which he was accused of posting messages inciting violence.

The slogan of this social network is “Follow the Truth”. “What makes Truth Social different!? We are a social media platform free from political discrimination. Join us and share, communicate and have fun!”, its description reads.

The logo of this app is a stylized T. On the sidelines of the event, British automotive solar company Trailar complained that the logo of the Truth Social app was nearly identical to their 'T' logo.

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is the owner of Truth Social. TMTG is personally founded and chaired by Donald Trump (as Chairman), Devin Nunes - a former Republican congressman as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is planning to list on the New York Stock Exchange.
