While Mr. Trump was speaking on stage at a voter rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, five gunshots rang out, one of which appeared to be aimed at him.

Just a few minutes into his speech, live video at the voter rally showed that Mr. Trump suddenly grabbed his right ear and lowered down behind the speaking podium. The Secret Service quickly rushed forward to shield him. After determining that the shooter had been killed, Secret Service agents escorted Mr. Trump leave the stage. There were dark blood stains on his right ear and on his face, as if the bullet had grazed him. The American press still calls what happened a security incident, instead of an attempted assassination. |
