Joe Biden Drops out of the 2024 Presidential Race, Endorses VP Kamala Harris

Facing the wave of calls to stop running for re-election and even resign from within his own Democratic Party, Joe Biden on the afternoon of July 21, 2024 local time announced the decision not to accept the nomination and focus all energies on his duties as President for the remainder of his term. He also “expressed his full support and endorsement for Kamala to become the nominee” of the Democratic Party this year.

In immediate response to Biden's decision, Donald J. Trump posted on his Truth Social account.

In a phone call with CNN a few minutes after Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 race, former President Trump replied: "He is the worst president in the history of our country. He became the worst president in our country's history.” Although it is unclear who will be the Democratic nominee, Trump said he thinks VP Harris will be easier to defeat than Biden.
