JF Kennedy May Drop Out of Presidential Race and Endorse Donald Trump

In a recent interview with Fox News and a post on X platform on August 22, 2024, Nicole Shanahan, the female running mate of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the 2024 US presidential election, mentioned the possibility that Kennedy would drop out of the race and their campaign would switch to supporting Donald Trump.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., born in 1954, is the son of Senator Robert F. Kennedy (born in 1925) and the nephew of President John F. Kennedy (born in 1917). Both his uncle and father were assassinated in 1963 and 1968, respectively.

The Kennedy family has a tradition being Democrats. Kennedy filed for the Democratic presidential nomination in April 2023; However, in October 2023, he chose to run as an independent candidate in the election after Biden's winning was something inevitable at that time.

Recent polls show that Ms. Harris has about 48% of the vote,  Trump about 44% and Mr. Kennedy approximately 5%.

Kennedy's campaign has been facing opposition mainly from the Democratic Party rather than the Republican, and Trump himself rarely criticized Kennedy.

In her X post, Nicole Shanahan wrote, “When I point out what the Democratic Party and their super PACs have done to sabotage our campaign, their response is always, “but Trump is worse.” Here’s an idea: stop suing us. Let us debate. Quit rigging the media and the polls. It’s a simple formula, people—get with it.

A source close to the Kennedy campaign told the NY Post that RFK Jr.’s drop out would be possibly announced Friday in Phoenix, Arizona.

If the predictions come true, the majority of Kennedy’s potential votes will go to Donald Trump, thus dramatically changing the Harris-Trump race. If Trump wins, then Kennedy/Shanahan will definitely have a certain role in the Trump administration in 2025.
