Trump described Zelenskyy as a man of steel, playing cute and playing nice when helping him survive the impeachment attempt by the Democrats in 2019. He emphasizes on remaining “the great relationship” with Ukrainian President.

Standing next to Zelenskyy, Trump said "This is a war that should have never happened. It should have never happened and it wouldn't have happened -- We'll get it solved." and "He [Russian President Putin] wants a fair transaction to take place ... I'm sure President Putin wants it to stop."

Asked by a reporter about details of the fair deal, Trump refused to give further information because he is in the election campaign.

In contrast to Trump’s approach, Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris said after the meeting with Zelenskyy on 26th Sept that she would continue to work with Zelenskyy to ensure Ukraine prevails in the  war, and blast any proposals for surrender.

A few days ago, Biden/Harris Administration arranged a visit by Zelenskyy Scranton Army Ammunition Plant in Pennsylvania, which supplies artillery shells for Ukraine. Republicans considered this visit a campaign event for Democrats.  Republican-led House of Representatives were prompted to probe into the abuse of power by Biden-Harris Administration, and even require Zelenskyy to fire his Ambassador on “election interference” reason.

In a recent interview with the New Yorker,  the Ukraine President said “Trump doesn’t really know how to stop the war even if he might think he knows how” and described Trump’s running mate JD Vance “too radical”.
