POLIBIZ – The US Vice President Harris (Democrat) told reporters that Ron DeSantis – Governor of Florida (Republican) was selfish and irresponsible when denying her phone call regarding Hurricane Milton. Blasting back, the Governor claimed that he didn’t receive any call from her, and she was not in “the chain of command”.

Harris also said something of morality, as her typical inspiring way of speech, such as “putting aside politics in situation of crisis and emergencies”.
Hours later, Ron DeSantis, who was busy with commanding the preparations before the storm, said in her 3 and a half years in office, Kamala Harris hasn’t called him once to offer assistance.
“She has no role in this. In fact, she's been vice president for three and a half years... While I've dealt with a number of storms under this administration. She has never contributed anything to any of these efforts.”
“She's the first one who's trying to politicize the storm, and she's doing that just because of her campaign.”, he added.
To make clear about how he was coordinating with the federal government, DeSantis said “I’ve been in contact with the President & the FEMA Director. Harris is not even in the chain of command. She has no role in this. The idea that I should be worrying about her when I’m focusing on the task at hand is quite frankly absurd.”
Since taking over Joe Biden’s presidential candidate status, Harris had been overshadowing the activities of the federal government, and Biden looked like a ghost at the White House, according to some observers.
However, Biden decided to come back and chair the federal efforts in dealing with Hurricane Milton. Biden told reporters that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis “has been cooperative” and is "doing a great job” dealing with the hurricane.
In another remarks, the Governor declared “Let me be clear: in Florida, we run the show! FEMA’s not running the show. You are not going to see FEMA running amok in Florida. I’m the sheriff that’s in charge here!”
